Horde Barrens Guide
Level 20
Make Sure you're at least Level 20! Many of the next
quests have a level requirement of 20 and you need to be level
20 to get a mount. If you're not level 20 yet, then grind
a couple of mobs at the Ghostlands to reach level 20.
With the advent of patch 3.2, you can obtain your mount and
riding skill at Level 20 for just ~5 Gold total (4 for the
training, 1 for the mount, with some price discounts for reputation),
which will speed up travel significantly. Over the next bit
of travel, all of the racial homelands will be visited, so
when your race comes up, go buy your mount then.
Even with no professions and using the auction house just
to sell basic grays you should easily be able to have 8 gold.
Still though, it bears mentioning that the amount of gold
you'll need in the future ramps up rapidly - if you haven't
yet, check out the 
Gold Guide for
an awesome guide which will allow you to get to at least ten
thousand gold while you level up to 80. Never worry about
the cost of skills and mount prices. You'll even be able to
pick up some rare and epic gear from the auction house with
your gold as you level so you can level even faster.
As we are right now at Silvermoon City if you've followed
the guide up to now-
Then, at the northwest corner of Silvermoon City,
use the Orb of Translocation to go to the Undercity.
Go to Lady Sylvanas Windrunner at the Royal Quarter
and turn in Journey to Undercity to be treated
with a nice cutscene. Also, get the quest Report to Tarren
Mill.
Make sure to pick up the Undercity Flight Path
if you don't have it yet.
- If Undead, buy your mount at Brill.
Then, head north out of The Undercity up to the Zeppelin
Tower. Take a zeppelin to Orgrimmar. Make sure
to pick up the Orgrimmar Flight Path if you don't have
it yet.
At this point, I assume you have no quests. The quests here
don't have any prerequisites, so this is a great place to
start! If you do have quests from the previous 10-20 zone
guide, turn them in whenever convenient.
Set your Hearthstone to Orgrimmar,
train your skills, and get the Flight Path if
you haven't already. Also, go to the auction house and
purchase four 10-slot bags (listed under the container
section) if you can afford them. They are well worth the small
amount of money you need to pay for them.

- Head to Ratchet and
get the Flight Path. Get the quests:
- Ziz Fizziks from Sputtervalve
- Deepmoss Eggs from
Mebok Mizzteix
- Fly or ride to The Crossroads
and get the Flight Path if you don't have it. Get
only the two quests from Mankrik:
- Consumed by Hatred
- Lost in Battle
- Head south to find the body of Mankrik's Wife.
- Go to Camp Taurajo and get the Flight Path.
Also, get just one quest from the area: Tribes at War
from Mangletooth.
- Head northeast and kill a total of 12 Bristleback Geomancer,
12 Bristleback Thornweaver, and 6 Bristleback Water
Seeker, and also collect at otal of 60 Bristleback
Quilboar Tusk.
- Once done, return to Camp Taurajo.
- At Camp Taurajo, turn in Tribes at War.
Then, get and complete the follow-up Blood Shards of
Agamaggan. You may then turn in your Blood Shards
for the buff most relevant to your class - you may sell
your remaining Blood Shards after that.
- Fly to The Crossroads and turn in your quests:
Consumed by Hatred and Lost in Battle.
- Head northwest into the Stonetalon
Mountains. Just west of the border between the
Stonetalon Mountains and The Barrens, talk to the two tauren
Seereth Stonebreak and Makaba Flathoof and
get the two quests:
- Goblin Invaders
- Avenge My Village
- Head west and kill 8 Grimtotem Ruffian and 6
Grimtotem Mercenary.
- Return to the two tauren questgivers. Turn in Avenge
my Village and get the follow-up Kill
Grundig Darkcloud.
